FAQs

Ordering and Delivery

How much is delivery?

We bake your cookies fresh especially for you, so there's no point sending them snail mail. Our normal deliveries are charged at £3.95 and sent Royal Mail Tracked 24 - this applies to our standard weekday and Saturday deliveries.

Tracked 24 deliveries are typically delivered next day but please allow up to 2 days for delivery.

How are your cookies packaged?

Our online orders are sent in recyclable, biodegradable cardboard boxes, sealed with paper based packing tape. We hate plastic and we avoid it all costs! Inside, the cookies are usually packed in 2's per bag with strong flavours, nuts, vegan, dairyfree and gluten free cookies packed separately.

Vegan/Dairy free/Gluten free cookies are in clearly labelled bags with the code for that cookie written in the big green circle at the top so you can't miss it. For example, a Vegan Orange & Chocolate cookie is labelled VO on the bag.

Each order contains a delivery note with the cookies you have ordered listed and the code is also on this paperwork for easy identification. If you have added a gift message, then this is also printed on the delivery note in a lovely scripty font.

What are your delivery days and options and can I request a specific day?

We deliver nationwide on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Depending on the number of orders we have and (strangely) the weather, we occasionally add in an additional day in the week. Available delivery dates can be seen in the date picker when you check out and you can choose the soonest or plan ahead for a date in the future.

We bake every cookie to order the day before delivery so they are super fresh. We NEVER send cookies from pre-baked stock. Our courier collects all the orders from us at 3.30pm. This means, your order must be in by midnight the night before we bake to be included.

  • For delivery Tuesday, you must order by midnight Sunday.
  • For delivery Wednesday (when available), you must order by midnight Monday.
  • For delivery Friday, you must order by midnight Wednesday.
  • For delivery Saturday, you must order by midnight Thursday.
  • For click & collect orders, you must order by 9am on the day.
Can I add a gift message with my order?

Yes absolutely! Our system is not quite as posh as some, so don't wait until the checkout to sort this bit. You need to add the 'add gift message' product to your basket, typing your message in the box on that page. If you forget, there is a handy link back to the gift message product on the checkout page.

Adding a gift message is completely free and there is no limit on the number of characters. All we ask is that you DON'T use emojis or weird characters as they just won't print as anything other than gobbledygook!

The gift message is printed on the delivery note and included inside the box of cookies under the presentation insert. No prices are ever printed on the delivery note.

How does your click & collect work?

We have 3 Click & Collect locations in Warwickshire:

  • Nuneaton (Mondays & Fridays)
  • Coventry (Mondays & Fridays)
  • Leamington (Fridays)

Order by midnight on the Thursday and your freshly baked cookies will be ready for collection later on Friday afternoon from 5.30pm usually. At the moment, it's only Fridays (plus an extra one for Coventry & Nuneaton on Mondays).

There is no charge, simply turn up to the secret location (details in your collection email - sent on the morning) and pick up the box with your name on it. Super simple! For more detailed information, please take a look at our delivery page.

Do you ship/deliver to other countries?

The quick answer is yes! However, you have to understand that we're all about freshness and quality of cookie experience. So sending our freshly baked cookies all over Europe and the world cheaply, means they're going to arrive dry and disappointing...that's bad, bad, bad!

Our cookies need to arrive within 48hrs to be sure you get the best out of them, so a 24hr service plus allowing an inevitable 24hrs 'delay' is about as much as we can risk. So that means it's expensive and you need to weigh up just how desperate you are for our cookies lol. Don't get us wrong, we totally understand the dilemma and we have many cookiemonsters across Europe going for it.

At the moment, we can deliver to MOST main European countries on a suitable 24/48hr service for a flat rate of £30 which allows you a box of up to 16 cookies. At the moment, our website does not allow international delivery destinations, so if you would like to enquire further about international shipping, or indeed place an order, then please go to our contact page and drop us a message.

I'm in another country but want to send your cookies to someone in the UK. How do I do this?

Ok, no problem...we have to fudge this as our little old ecommerce website system doesn't like this. So for your billing address, use your own address but make sure the country is set to UK. The payment method will not be affected by this and it means your order can go straight through. Any problems, contact us on our live chat or drop us a message through the contact page.

Can you deliver to Northern Ireland, Channel Islands, Isle of Wight and other offshore UK areas?

Yes! We're pretty amazing to be honest, so we can arrange most things. Northern Ireland and the Isle of Wight are standard DPD shipping locations and there is no extra charge from us.

There are some destinations which take 2 days rather than 1 (offshore addresses and some Aberdeen and Inverness postcodes). Whenever the delivery destination is not covered on 24hr service by DPD, we use Royal Mail special delivery and we will always do our best to take your parcel by hand to our post office at the end of the day.

This does cost another £3 to £5 more and this is calculated by the system.

Ingredients

Are Wicked Cookies gluten free?

Only our cookies marked or named as 'Gluten Free' are suitable for people with gluten intolerances.

All our GF cookies have a badge saying they are gluten free. We also have a gluten free category specifically with just gluten free cookies in.

Are your Gluten Free cookies suitable for coeliacs?

Our gluten free cookies use a gluten free oat flour from a specialist farm that even has their own gluten free tractors. The oat flour is tested twice per 1kg produced resulting in a consistent high purity result of less than 2 parts per million. The UK coeliac society states that only foods that contain 20 ppm or less can be labelled as 'gluten-free'. So our gf flour already contains 10 times less gluten than that allowable for coeliacs.

Our gluten free cookies are baked in the same ovens as our regular cookies and packed in the same areas. It is for this reason we say they are made in a bakery handling other allergens. Every coeliac is different in regards to what they are or are not comfortable with but we have been making our gluten free cookies for over 6 years and have a huge coeliac following and get hundreds and hundreds of recommendations and referrals from our coeliac fans. All our cookies are packed according to allergen and clearly labelled as standard.

Are Wicked Cookies dairy free?

Only our marked 'Vegan / Dairy Free' cookies are suitable for people who either don’t want to eat dairy products or are allergic to them.

Are Wicked Cookies suitable for nut allergy sufferers?

All our cookies are made in a kitchen where nuts are present. Our ingredients listing can be found on the ingredients tab on every cookie page. Cookies without nuts in the list do not contain nuts and whilst every effort is made to separate production, only the nut allergy sufferer themselves can decide how important it is for them.

As a small, family bakery, we take every care, but we cannot guarantee our no nut cookies have not come into contact with nut residue and they will have been baked in the same ovens as cookies with nuts.

Are Wicked Cookies suitable for vegetarians?

Our cookies are suitable for lacto ovo vegetarians (those that eat dairy and egg products).

None of our cookies contain meat or fish products EXCEPT for the rare cookie which may contain E120 colouring. E120 is NOT suitable for vegetarians and provides a pink/red colour. Please check the ingredients listing if you are unsure as it will be listed if it is used.

The Dairy Free White Chocolate with Rose Petals cookie is an example but the vast majority of our cookies do not contain this colouring.

How many carbs are in each cookie?

As a small business, getting official testing and reports for over 50 cookies is a costly exercise! However, we can give you an average across the range to give those of you who need to know, some indication for your calculations.

Each cookie weighs, on average after baking 78-80 grams. The carbs per cookie, whether classic, gluten free or dairy free are roughly 46 grams of which sugars are 26g. Cookies without chocolate will be a little lower.

Are Wicked Cookies Halal?

Most of our cookies are suitable for those following a Halal diet. They do not contain alcohol (except the Amaretto cookie), gelatine, or non-Halal animal ingredients (we’ve confirmed our butter and eggs are Halal).

However, please note two important points:

  • Amaretto Cookie – contains a small amount of alcohol in the dough. This burns off during baking, but we list it for transparency.
  • E120 (Carmine/Cochineal) – a natural colour made from insects. One or two of our cookie flavours include this ingredient, which some Halal followers choose to avoid. It will always be listed in the ingredients section of each cookie’s page, though we don’t yet have a simple way to filter cookies by this.

If you are following Halal and want to avoid E120, please check the individual cookie’s ingredients list before ordering. We are working on ways to make this clearer in the future.

We’re grateful to our customers who have reached out to help us provide accurate information. 💜

Do you use free range eggs?

Absolutely! Our eggs come from chickens that are free to roam in the barn or outdoors...there’s even a wooded area where they can rest, get some shade and forage. This is the actual real farm where our eggs come from (and it's certified RSPCA assured).

By the way, just thought we'd mention it - Angela's farm (that's our egg lady!) is just down the road from 'Grandma's House'. So Angela delivers our eggs to Grandma and Grandma brings them to our bakery when she comes over to help each week. #lowestfoodmilesever

Do your cookies contain hydrogenated fats?

No way Jose! They’re the work of the devil and whilst our cookies might be wicked...we won’t go that far!

Is the palm oil in your vegan cookies RSPO certified?

Yes! We use a mix of refined vegetable oils including RSPO certified palm oil. The oil mix is Palm: 57 (+/-3%) and Rapeseed: 43 (+/-3%).

Ideally, we'd prefer to use a vegetable fat that doesn't include any palm oil. We have searched extensively for a replacement product which does not contain palm oil or nuts and unfortunately, have been unable to find anything that works as well. Whilst other options are available they either contain nut or other allergens, smell or taste unsuitable or negatively change the texture of the cookies.

We will of course continue to look and welcome suggestions if you have any!

Do you make a sugar free or no added sugar cookie?

The short answer is, no! Let's be honest here, the chemistry of baking requires some very basic ingredients in very specific quantities to create the perfect cookie. Mess with one of those and it throws the whole thing. So it's not simply about taking it out as that would create an epic fail. We used to make a small range of no-added sugar cookies which were very popular. Sadly, in the last few years, the chicory extract based sugar alternative that we used, increased in price so much that it became uneconomical to continue as we would have to charge nearly £10 per cookie. We know they were good, but truly, not even our cookies could warrant a £10 price tag!

And before you ask, yes, we have tried Stevia, Natvia, Maple Syrup, Agave and all those other obvious sugar replacements and they either don't work, or do not create a cookie that passes our strict taste and texture test! Coconut sugar has also been suggested to us, but this is still an added sugar and whilst less refined, would still not achieve a cookie for those looking for a more diabetic friendly option.

General Other Questions

How big are your cookies?

So big, eating more than one in one sitting puts you in our hall of fame! No, seriously, they're pretty big.

They all spread differently but we work to an approximate weight of 85g per cookie. They are roughly 9cm in diameter and 2cm deep.

How long do Wicked Cookies last?

In our house...not very long!  Our cookies are baked fresh to order. They are literally baked especially for your order a few hours before they are boxed and sent. We don't use any preservatives and are not at all like pre-packed biscuits (heaven forbid!!).

They are best eaten within 3 days but do last longer. As they get older, we suggest you warm them before devouring as this increases moistness, gooeyness and yumminess!

They can also be frozen (see question below about freezing).

Can your cookies be frozen?

Yes, they can. It’s worth mentioning though that our Salted Caramel don’t freeze quite as well as others due to the caramel chips tending to go a bit squidgy after defrosting. Freeze for up to 3 months and keep strong flavours separate.

Defrost naturally (around 2hrs) and you can get them right back to that freshly baked moment if you warm them in your oven (pre warm to 120 degrees then put on a baking tray for 7-8 mins)...or 15-20 seconds in the microwave will do a similar job!

Do you have nutritional information or calorie info?

Now why would you want to ruin a perfectly excellent cookie experience with a question like that? Well, to be fair, we've had our calorie counting, carb crunching moments too, so we'll do our best to help you out. Firstly, as our cookies are not prepackaged and we bake to order, nutritional info is not required and to get detailed nutritional info for lots of products is super crazy expensive!

However, each of our cookies roughly comes out between 350 and 450 kcals each...that's about the same as a slice of cake...and they are just as filling, if not more so. Obviously cookies with chocolate and nuts are at the highest end of that.

If you are after the carb information, each cookie weighs, on average after baking 78-80 grams. The carbs per cookie, whether classic, gluten free or dairy free are roughly 46 grams of which sugars are 26g. Cookies without chocolate will be a little lower.

What are cookie points and loyalty cards?

We reward our cookiemonsters with free cookies! If you buy your cookies from us in person, we give you a loyalty card with 1 stamp per cookie. Fill it with 15 stamps and you get ....a free cookie of your choice! Also, it's worth knowing that for every 20 cards that get redeemed, we plant a tree. So by eating our cookies, you're helping save the world!

On our website, you get cookie points (as long as you create an account and don't use guest checkout). They work in the same way. Each cookie you buy on the website gives you cookie points. Save these up and you can redeem them against future orders for a percentage discount with the same equivalent as our '15 cookies gets you 1 free' stamp card.

Sadly, the stamp cards and the web cookie points operate on 2 different systems which we cannot combine, so you can only get stamps and redeem cards at our markets, events and festivals.

Web points are online only.

How do I see/redeem my cookie points online?

Click the cookie points icon bottom left of our web pages, you can register/login using the same email address as your account.

This will then activate your points and pick up any points earned so far on shipped orders placed through your account (not guest checkout). You can then choose how many points you would like to redeem for discount. You can use them all, or just a portion...entirely up to you.

How ethical and sustainable are you?

Bulk & Wholesale

Can I order cookies for my office / party / wedding?

Yes! Please contact us and we’ll take some details and work out the best way we can help you. We have a specific corporate page where you can take a look at some of the work we've done for businesses around the UK and you can enquire as to how we could do the same for you too.

Do you sell cookies wholesale?

We do get asked this all the time. In the most part, the answer is no as we like to keep our presentation, quality and standards tip top. We also have to consider volume and delivery as it's just the four of us and we can't start delivering a few cookies to coffee shops all over the county.

If however, you have a proposition that might be the first to work for us, then please do feel free to complete the wholesale enquiry form to get in touch and give us some information about what you have in mind....we never say never!

Can't find what you're looking for?

Send us an email to tell us what's up and someone from our Customer Service team will get back to you as soon as possible. Be sure to include your order number (if you have one).
